While I was going through all of my journals as part of our end of year stash-busting challenge, I realized I had this ENTIRE GIGANTIC glue book that I’ve been working on all year and never shared any pages from or even talked about!
I can’t even believe I forgot to mention it, because this book was so much fun to create!
You can watch the fill flip through in the video embedded below or you can watch the full flip through on my Youtube channel.
I started this glue book shortly after posting my first gluebook flip through video in 2021. This book is thicker than the other one + definitely has a lot less empty space on the pages so of course it also took quite the while to fill up!
Some of My Favorite Pages
There are always pages in a journal that kind of stand out to me as favorites and so I thought I’d share those here.
This is the first time I’ve made themed pages in a glue book and I definitely want to continue that in my next gluebook for 2023!
Books
Here’s a page in my gluebook all about books, of course!
Color Themes
I also played around with making some pages in just one color, like this bright yellow one.
I definitely think I was inspired by the very talented Lisa Jones England in our facebook group to do a page of all one color – she makes so many great glue book pages and I love the ones she shares with us!
I definitely want to do more all color ones – but it takes some discipline! I usually just want to throw EVERYTHING together on one page, but I think as I plan my gluebook for 2023 I will definitely dedicate some more pages to just one color.
Chickens, Chickens Everywhere
There are so many chickens everywhere in this glue book!
I would say I don’t even know why, because I don’t even like chickens that much (I mean, unless we’re talking about eggs for breakfast lol…) – But I actually do know why and it’s because I had a magazine all about chickens….and well, before you knew it I had like 300 pictures of chickens.
I still have chickens I haven’t even used, so they’ll probably work their way into another gluebook eventually.
The roosters and chickens are pretty though!
Here’s another page where a random chicken works its way in:
Some Celebrity Cameos
I don’t usually put a lot of celebrities in my gluebooks, but when I do, they are legends like Tom Selleck.
I was probably like 5-6 years old when I first watched Magnum, P.I. but my mom was a huge fan – she *STILL* to this day stops everything to watch the show he’s currently in.
Personally, I think Magnum P.I. was better, but maybe because there was a boat.
And yes, there’s a chicken there too.
Mom Life
Speaking of moms, I had a lot of magazines that are relatable to being a mom this year for whatever reason so I definitely pulled out a bunch of great stuff related to being a mon for another themed page.
I have three kiddos so definitely relatable, though I am lucky my kids do the dishes AND cook dinner a lot of times each week now that they are older!
Of course we have a couple of more rogue chickens:
I really liked the colors of that page – and the quotes. I don’t worry too much about the words in my gluebooks and art journals making sense together necessarily – but they do usually kind of flow together in a way that makes sense to me. That’s kind of a cryptic hidden journaling technique I use!
A Gelato Moment
This is another one of those pages that isn’t really totally themed (I tried to keep it to ice cream, and then dairy, but as usual I didn’t stick with it!)
No chickens on this page, but I’ve noticed I also usually have a lot of cats and dogs in my glue books – I can’t help it, they are so cute!
If you’d like to watch the full flip-through, you can see it on our YouTube channel, and of course if you’d like to join me in prepping my next glue book make sure you subscribe to my channel because that’s next on the to-do list of our End of Year Stashbusting challenge + that video should be coming up very soon!
And of course – while it’s fun to share what I’m working on I always LOVE to see what YOU’RE creating – so please do remember to join our Facebook group + share what you’re working on or even share some pages out of your old journals + gluebooks like I have this week.
